2015 How Now Stakes Final Field and Barrier Draw

A talented field has been confirmed for Saturday’s Group 3 How Now Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield Racecourse; highlighted by the inclusion of some of the Spring Carnival’s most exciting fillies and mares.

Tycoon Tara clearly needed the run when sixth in the in the Group 2 McEwen Stakes (1000m) first-up on September 5th, but is sure to have taken priceless condition from the run leading into the 2015 How Now Stakes.

Tycoon Tara undoubtedly found career-best form to date through the recent Autumn Carnival; highlighted by success in each of the Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes (1200m) and Group 3 Premier Signs Stakes (1400m) and a close fifth in the Group 1 Robert Sangster Classic (1200m) on May 2nd.

While needing some luck from barrier 12, Tycoon Tara has proven she is more than capable of mixing it with the best amongst fillies and mares company.

Trainer Troy Corstens has confirmed Vezalay will return to the paddock following the How Now Stakes but is a leading chance for success in the Group 3 race after being confirmed to be partnered by champion hoop Damien Oliver.

Returning this time for success in the Beveridge Williams Plate (1100m) on August 15th, the Shamardal mare progressed to third in the Group 3 Cockram Stakes (1200m) before a luckless run for sixth in the Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m) last weekend.

David Hayes and Tom Dabernig are set to launch a two pronged attack on the fillies and mares feature race after confirming both Wawail and Girl Guide in the 2015 How Now Stakes final field.

A strong and consistent performer through the recent Autumn Carnival, Wawail finished third in the Group 3 The Vanity (1400m); progressing to success in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1400m) before running third in the Listed Alexandra Stakes (1600m).

Undoubtedly finding career-best form to date through the 2014 Spring Carnival, Girl Guide won the Cockram Stakes before running second in each of the How Now Stakes and Group 2 Tristarc Stakes (1400m); returning to the paddock after placing sixth in the Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m).
